AUTHORS

H L Daniel

Mrs Hajara Lydia Daniel is not new to the art, the craft and science of creative writing. The Saltpond-born author, playwright, publisher, poet and educationalist is a former student of St Theresa’s Primary School, Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School and Tamale Secondary School (Ghana), and a graduate of the University of York (United Kingdom).

The married mother of two’s passion for reading and writing, which began at the age of five, has eased her through the narrow, unlined and slippery lanes of poetry, the unchartered roads of prose, and the alleyways, parks and broadways of radio, television, theatre and film. Her plays include Kookua (selected for the Accra International Children’s Arts Festival (KIDDAFEST) and the fourth edition of the Ghana Theatre Festival, The Akans: Birth of Two Kingdoms (2017) Sankofa Hills (2018), a radio play produced for Africa Global Radio, and her latest production, Coconut Court, a television sitcom. Her witty and thought-provoking stories include Passage of Love, Kofi: Growing Pains, Cocoa’s Kisses, Amazing Grace, and Reaching for the Stars.
